Track 17: Digital transformation and knowledge management
In the modern hyper-competitive, turbulent, and dynamic business environment, businesses look towards digital technologies and related disruptive innovations to improve their performance and competitiveness. Nevertheless, at present, managers often lack clarity about the different options and elements they need to consider in their digital transformation endeavors. Therefore, they fail to consider important elements of digital transformation or disregard solutions that are more favorable to their firms’ specific situations, which could have unintended adverse contingencies. This track focuses on understanding and overcoming the barriers that hinder successful implementation of digital transformation journey in organizations, suggesting studying the role of dynamic capabilities, strategic orientation, digitalization, knowledge management and innovation.
Digital transformation and knowledge management are evolving research streams in the strategic management field, and its growing importance inspires researchers to investigate it from different perspectives and contexts. This track aims to generate multidisciplinary insights and practical strategies to benefit from the interaction of digital transformation and knowledge management, thereby enhancing innovation performance of the firm.
