Track 14: Overcoming Resistance to Human-AI Collaboration
In the pursuit of a digitally transformed future, the synergy between humans and machines stands at the forefront of innovation and competitive advantage. However, resistance to digital transformation can significantly impede this synergy, affecting collaboration and introducing competition where cooperation is needed. This track focuses on understanding and overcoming the barriers that hinder effective human-machine collaboration, aligning with the conference theme of exploring the dynamics between human and AI systems.
We invite scholars, industry professionals, and policymakers to contribute papers that delve into the cultural, psychological, and organizational factors contributing to resistance against integrating AI and digital technologies into the workplace. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• Cultural Resistance in Human-Machine Teams: Examining how legacy mindsets and corporate cultures inhibit the acceptance of AI technologies and collaborative processes.
• Psychological Barriers to Human-AI Collaboration: Understanding fears, uncertainties, and cognitive biases that lead individuals to resist working alongside machines.
• Bridging Generational Gaps: Analyzing how different age groups perceive and adapt to human-machine synergy, and strategies to foster inclusive collaboration.
• Leadership Strategies for Enhancing Synergy: Exploring leadership styles and decision-making processes that successfully mitigate resistance and promote teamwork between humans and AI.
• Ethical Concerns in Human-Machine Interaction: Addressing issues of trust, data privacy, and AI ethics that contribute to resistance and affect collaboration.
• Skill Development for Human-Machine Collaboration: Designing training programs that equip employees with the necessary skills to work effectively with AI systems.
• Case Studies of Successful Synergy: Learning from organizations that have overcome resistance to achieve effective human-machine collaboration, highlighting best practices and lessons learned.
This track aims to generate multidisciplinary insights and practical strategies to overcome resistance, thereby enhancing human-machine synergy. By addressing these challenges, we can pave the way for more collaborative and efficient interactions between humans and machines, ultimately contributing to a more innovative and competitive digital future.
